How I love to spend my time: Visiting my daughter in Brooklyn, writing every morning, walking with my dog, Henri, in Cheesman Park, digging in dirt at the Denver Community Garden where I’m growing plants for pollinators, standing Sunday movie date and weekly dinner date with my friends Anne and Susan, hiking in the mountains, kayaking at Leigh Lake in the Tetons, annual family trips to Greece, reading a book in the Luxembourg gardens, hosting my seasonal salons, and slumber parties with my posse of five dear friends from Sheridan—we met in junior high

Collections: I collect books found at English bookstores in Paris and have found first editions including a Charles Dickens and a particular treasure—an editor’s proof of the 1958 Paris Review that has Ernest Hemingway’s interview in it complete with editor mark-ups, purchased for €16. I also have a collection of autographed air-sickness bags (unused of course) that my Aspen Airlines (gone now) flight attendant roommate in the ’80s helped with, and it includes Eddie Van Halen, David Brenner, Vanna White, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Bo Diddley
